Summer is flying by...

Brecken is already 4 months old and our summer is just flying by.  I can't believe the turn to August is so close! I am nervous about starting back to school, only because I can't imagine getting everyone up, dressed, ready, in their places for the day, and myself to school all by 8:00 in the morning. That will be quite an accomplishment!

We were able to spend time with the Allen boys when they came to town for state baseball.  Watching those boys love on my boys was so fun! They are so sweet!

Camber was "bear hunting"

I like putting the boys' pictures next to each other.  I can definitely tell they are brothers, but I think they look so different.  They act so different too!
I also try to find pictures where they are in similar poses or clothes so that obviously makes them look even more similar.

We definitely don't get to see Bane, Payton, and Taylor as much this summer as I would like because I have been so bad about getting Brecken outside in this horrible heat.  He is such a hot baby! That and taking a little baby and a sassy 3 year old out and about doesn't always sound so appealing.  Hopefully next summer we will be able to get all these kids together more often!
Brecken is officially bigger than Bane

These five are going to keep us very busy!

This year for the 4th of July Camber got to ride with Doug in the Urbandale parade and throw candy. He loved it!! I stayed home with Brecken as it was just too hot for him!  We then went to Urbandale's carnival for Camber to ride some rides.  I also visited Camber's preschool for their little parade.

These boys truly love each other.  I definitely thought by now the "newness" of Brecken would wear off, but Camber just can't get enough! And Brecken loves his big brother.  The entertainment is cheap and hilarious!

We signed Camber up for soccer, because he loved playing it at home. Doug got roped into being the coach because they couldn't find anyone else.  The first week Camber did pretty good.  He would at least run around on the field with Doug, although he wouldn't kick the ball.  Week two and three were pretty bad.  He just doesn't want to play "with all those people."  He likes practice time where he can kind of do his own thing, but the game is just too much for him.

We took the boys to the drive-in movie.  It was such a fun place.  I wish Doug and I would have found it before we had kids, because it would have been such fun for a date night. We weren't thinking quite right about how late it would be by the time the movie got over. Needless to say we were all pretty tired, although both boys did fall asleep during the movie.

Camber did a couple days of swim lessons and while he started out pretty timid he did go under and use goggles, which he though was pretty cool.  Hopefully next year he will learn even more.

We visited the Dallas County Fair (and it's definitely not anything to write home about).

Jaxson and Kameron invited the boys to the Science Center and they were so fun to watch. They ran around and played with everything!! Crazy kids!

We also signed up for baseball, but weeks one and two of that haven't been great.  He spends more time building sand castles.  Again he says he doesn't want all those people watching him.

Brecken was baptized at Lutheran Church of Hope and we were so grateful for all the family that joined us to celebrate the first step in Brecken's faith journey.  Our good friends Grant and Alison Henry are Brecken's Godparents (sponsors).  They came up before the baptism to eat lunch and hang out.  Camber and Eve had a wonderful time.  Brecken and Margot didn't even realize what was going on.

I took Camber with me for Brecken's 3-month pictures.  We got some cute pictures, but both of my boys are very serious when it comes to taking pictures :-)

Brecken is 4 months old.
He is just under 17 pounds and almost 26 inches long!
70th percentile for both!
